SHEA BUTTER

PROTECTS AGAINST WIND AND WEATHER

Shea trees thrive in the warm climate of Africa and grow abundantly in Burkina Faso. For generations, women have used shea butter to protect their skin from harsh weather, sand and dust. Today, many of these women are organised into cooperatives, while continuing to use traditional methods to harvest and produce shea butter.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

We are committed to helping women in Burkina Faso work in safe and sustainable conditions, which is why we have developed a programme in close partnership with the women themselves.

“Our Shea Butter collection has become a favourite with customers around the world. Thanks to this success, the number of women producing shea butter for L’Occitane has grown from fewer than 100 to more than 15,000.”
- Olivier Baussan, Founder of L’Occitane
