For centuries, women in sub-Saharan Africa have used shea butter to nourish and protect their skin and hair. Since the 1980s, L’Occitane en Provence has partnered with women’s cooperatives in Burkina Faso through a fair trade programme. What began with 100 women has grown to more than 10,000 today, working together to develop and strengthen the organic shea butter supply chain, an ingredient that helps care for both skin and communities.
