We support our producers

Our ingredients - and the people behind them - are an essential part of L’Occitane en Provence. Without their expertise and dedication, our products would not be as unique and authentic. We value dialogue, respect, and transparency in all our partnerships, and several of our collaborations have lasted for over 30 years - a testament to our shared commitment to quality and responsibility.

By making sure they receive a fair share of the profits from their products, we help improve quality of life, strengthen local communities, and build a sustainable future.

We act on our values

We treat our producers with respect and fairness. We offer a fair price and enter into long-term, non-exclusive agreements that provide security while allowing producers the freedom to work with others. When needed, we offer advance payments to support their businesses. We primarily work with family farmers who are passionate about their work and want to pass on their knowledge and land to the next generation. We know our producers personally and work closely with them throughout the year - not just during harvest.

A long-standing partnership in Corsica

Since 2004, we have been working with around a dozen growers and distillers in Corsica to cultivate Immortelle — a precious flower that otherwise grows wild. Harvesting it directly from the wild would be both risky and unsustainable, which is why we launched our organic cultivation programme, which now covers more than 50 hectares.Through long-term contracts, we provide our producers with both security and the freedom to develop their businesses on their own terms. We believe in long-term partnerships where respect for nature, craftsmanship, and future generations is at the heart of everything we do.

We replant almond trees in Provence

Our main almond producer, Jean-Pierre Jaubert, has a multi-year contract with L’Occitane en Provence. With our support, he has planted more than 15,000 almond trees in the Valensole region of Provence. We make use of the entire almond, including the shells, which are crushed and used in our scrubs, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. This helps reduce waste and maximise the value of every harvest.L’Occitane en Provence is one of the founding members of France Amande — a French organisation working to re-establish almond trees in Provence.

Passionate verbena producers

From their first meeting on the lush island of Réunion to a farm nestled among the hills of Provence, Philippe and Magalie Mary have shared a life filled with stories and a passion they both cherish.Their love of sustainable farming and Provençal herbs inspired them to start growing verbena — a plant rich in character and history. Today, they are producers for L’Occitane en Provence, supplying organic floral water for our refreshing Verbena collection.

    RESPECT FOR BIODIVERSITY

Nature is our greatest source of inspiration — and our responsibility. We use traceable, sustainably sourced ingredients and ensure that plants are grown and harvested without harming the environment or biodiversity. Across several of our supply chains, we actively work to preserve local plant species.

    SUSTAINABLE SOURCING

We draw inspiration from the natural properties of plants to develop innovative products. Through long-term relationships with our producers and short, locally rooted supply chains, we ensure that our key ingredients are sourced in a sustainable and responsible way.
