Taking care of nature and protecting biodiversity is a heartfelt commitment for L’Occitane. Together with our producers, we help safeguard both, while bringing the power of our sensorially stimulating ingredients to the world.
ALMOND CULTIVATION
We have helped replant 17 000 almond trees where they belong.
Almond trees have always been a symbol of the Provence landscape. Unfortunately, during the 1950s and 1960s, they had to make way for more profitable crops. Since 2000, we have supported local producers in southern France and helped replant almond trees to revive traditional almond production. Our goal is to ensure that almond trees once again become an integral part of the landscape.

SHOWER OIL
When it comes into contact with water, Almond Shower Oil transforms into a light, milky lather that gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. The oil rinses off easily, leaving no greasy or sticky residue. Skin is left feeling moisturised and delicately fragranced.
BODY CREAM
Almond Milk Concentrate has a formula made with 95% naturally derived ingredients, meeting our standards for the Clean Charter symbol. The product is completely free from phenoxyethanol, silicones and parabens.
VERBENA CULTIVATION
We ensure that our verbena is surrounded by a rich and diverse ecosystem.
One of our commitments is to respect and protect biodiversity.We use traceable, sustainably produced verbena and ensure that it is grown and harvested in ways that protect the environment.Together with our verbena producers, our sustainability experts have implemented agroecological practices to foster rich biodiversity around our verbena fields. For example, we have built stone walls that provide insects, lizards and birds with natural habitats close to our fields.

We have found organic solutions that help our lavender thrive despite climate change.
When it comes to lavender, we work exclusively with local producers in southern France. As with all our key ingredients, we are committed to supporting local farmers. Lavender in Provence is under threat from climate change and other harmful factors, and is gradually disappearing from the landscape. Since 2012, L’Occitane has supported French research institutes in developing organic solutions and innovative cultivation methods to help protect lavender from disappearing.
